MAINTENANCE / HANDY MAN (Howard County / Montgomery County)

Very busy General Contracting Company seeks knowledgeable, driven, trust-worthy, deadline focused maintenance professional for full-time position.

MUST HAVE DRIVER’S LICENSE AND YOUR OWN TOOLS.

Skills Required: ability to install appliances, hot water heater, vinyl flooring, quarter round, light fixtures, cabinets, countertops, toilets, faucets, sump pumps, doors, and gutters. Caulk baths. Replace siding. Check plumbing.

Any additional carpentry, plumbing, electrical, roofing, and/or HVAC skills a plus

Must be able to work Monday-Friday, 7:45 AM — 4:30 PM. Ability to work occasional evenings and Saturdays a plus.

Job Corps is now accepting applications for new enrollment!

Eligibility:

• Be at least 16 and not yet 25 years of age at time of enrollment

• Be a legal U.S. resident; lawfully admitted permanent resident alien, refugee, asylee, or parolee, or other immigrant who has been authorized by the U.S. attorney general to work in the United States; or resident of a U.S. territory

• Meet low-income criteria

• Face one or more barriers to employment such as: needing additional career technical training, education, counseling, and related assistance to complete regular schoolwork or to secure and maintain employment

• Can be a school dropout, a runaway, a foster child, a parent, or homeless

• Have signed consent from a parent or guardian if he or she is a minor

• Have a child care plan if he or she is the parent of a dependent child

• Not exhibit behavioral problems that could inhibit him or her or others from benefiting fully from the program

• Not require any face-to-face court or institutional supervision or court-imposed fines while enrolled in Job Corps

• Not use drugs illegally

Documents needed to apply:

• Maryland State Picture ID or Driver’s License

• Social Security Card

• 6 months proof of income for the applicant or the parent/legal guardian or public assistance eligibility letter

• Birth Certificate

• Diploma, GED, or official school transcript (IEP, if applicable) of the last school you attended

• Medical or Health Insurance Card and Immunization records

• Background Check

• Emergency contact information including the address & phone number of at least 3 persons
