This month is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. It’s a month that really shouldn’t be designated for just 31 days but a day the world should be aware everyday. My mother survived an abusive relationship and she was lucky. But for many women living with an abuser, the signs of hope or an end is far gone mentally. There is NO excuse to abuse or to be abused! According to the FBI, there are over 2 million male abusers A YEAR  and over 1500 women are killed each year by husbands or boyfriends. (Resource: www.pbs.org)

You may not even know you’re being abused. Here are some signs! If you are in danger, please call 911, your local hotline, or (in the U.S.) the National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-7233 or

TTY 1-800-787-3224.
