Rapper G Herbo recently joined the Quicksilva Morning Show to open up about his journey as an artist, his creative process, and his growing entrepreneurial ventures. Fans got an inside look at his latest release, Went Legit, his honest take on the music industry, and how he maintains a positive mindset despite life’s challenges.

Herbo explained that Went Legit was inspired by his own life experiences, crafted organically during an energetic studio session with producers Southside and Smack. The song captures his signature storytelling and marks a moment of growth, reinforcing his reputation as one of the most authentic voices in hip-hop.

The conversation also turned to the business side of music. Herbo acknowledged the dominance of streaming but criticized its inequities, noting that it takes roughly 1,500 streams to make just one dollar. That’s why he’s focused on ownership, developing his own G Herbo app over the last five years to connect directly with fans and keep more control over his work and earnings.

Resilience, he says, has been key to his success. Growing up on Chicago’s South Side taught him the importance of staying strong and finding joy in small wins. His advice to young artists: know your worth, stay true to your vision, and don’t be afraid to innovate.

Through his music and entrepreneurial spirit, G Herbo continues to lead by example, showing that perseverance and authenticity can carry you far, inspiring both rising and established artists to carve their own path.
