Will Smith dropped a hard-hitting diss track aimed at Chris Rock during Fire in the Booth with DJ Charlie Sloth.

The moment recalled that fateful night in March 2022 at the 94th Academy Awards, when Smith famously slapped Rock after a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head due to alopecia. Smith faced significant backlash after the incident and was hit with a 10-year ban from official Oscar events.

In his freestyle, Smith says, “If you talking crazy out your face up on the stage and disrespect me on the stage, expect me on the stage.”

Smith also declares himself “the illest,” weaving in reflections on his various awards, ranging from Oscars, Grammys and Emmys, while also touching on his journey since the slap.

The freestyle comes as part of Smith’s creative resurgence following his newest album released earlier this year, Based on a True Story, where he further addresses the fallout from that Oscar night and being “canceled.” Tracks like “Int. Barbershop – Day” and “You Lookin’ for Me?” explore his public quest for redemption.

Neither Smith nor Rock have publicly commented on the freestyle at the time of this article.
