Kendrick Lamar & SZA Make History, Highest-Grossing Joint Tour Ever
In case you needed a reminder of how powerful the culture really is… Kendrick Lamar and SZA just made history (again).
The two powerhouses have officially set a new record, hosting the highest-grossing co-headlining tour of all time with their Grand National Tour. According to recent figures, the duo has grossed over $256 million in just 23 shows across North America, moving more than 1.1 million tickets and drawing in an average of 48,000 fans per night.
Let that sink in: 48,000 people per night, all there to witness the synergy between a poetic genius from Compton and a soulful queen from Jersey. The average gross per show? A stunning $11.1 million. Yeah. This tour isn’t just doing numbers, it’s rewriting the blueprint.
The historic moment hit home in Maryland, when SZA got emotional on stage while giving Kendrick his flowers. “He put me onto the biggest moment of my life,” she told the crowd, fighting back tears. “This is also the biggest moment of my life… I’m so thankful, and I’m so thankful to y’all.” The moment was sealed with a heartfelt hug between the two collaborators.
Here’s what really makes this special: SZA opened up about her struggles with anxiety before the tour, even admitting she doubted her ability to hold her own beside Kendrick. “Everybody’s going to see Kendrick,” she said in an interview. “I don’t even know if I have anything to show these people that’s exciting and new.”
But this tour changed everything.
SZA says she’s now learning to walk confidently through doors she once hesitated to approach: “I want to see where this door is going to lead… I want to see what happens in the uncertainty.”
We love to see it… Black artistry, vulnerability, and triumph on full display. Salute to both Kendrick and SZA for showing the world how it’s done.
