NBA YoungBoy Announces New Album Dropping on July 4
NBA YoungBoy is back on the scene after announcing a new studio album set to release on July 4, 2025. The rapper, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, made the date official via an Instagram Story post.
YoungBoy’s last album, I Just Got a Lot on My Shoulders, dropped in December 2024. Earlier this year, while in prison, he released More Leaks, a compilation of unreleased tracks, just weeks before coming home early.
The upcoming album marks another major moment for YoungBoy after dealing with a heap of legal issues over the past few years. In April 2023, he pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a prescription drug fraud ring in Utah. He later faced a federal weapons charge tied to a 2021 music video shoot. In November 2024, he accepted a plea deal: 23 months in prison, five years of probation and fines.
Despite the setbacks, the rap star earned credit for time served and was released from prison in March 2025 to home confinement. YoungBoy was also pardoned by president Donald Trump last month, lifting his probation requirements.
