Russell Wilson Signs Million Dollar Deal With The Giants
Quarterback legend Russell Wilson has signed a lucrative $21 million deal with the New York Giants. The one-year contract was finalized last month and includes $10.5 million guaranteed.
Wilson, who spent last season playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers, reportedly chose to take his talents to New York instead of Cleveland, where the Browns allegedly only offered him a “bridge” job until the return of Deseaun Watson. Now, the team will have to wait for Watson to return from an Achilles injury.
Drafted to the Seattle Seahawks in 2012, Wilson has had an illustrious career including leading the Seahawks to victory in Super Bowl XXLVIII and being named to the Pro Bowl nine times. Over his 11 seasons in Seattle, Wilson became known for his leadership, dynamic playmaking ability and poise in clutch moments. With more than 37,000 career passing yards and 292 touchdowns, Wilson is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished quarterbacks of his generation.
But now, as a Giant, he’ll bring his talents to MetLife Stadium, where he’s experienced his fair share of success winning several key games, including notable victories against NFC East rivals. His move to New York is a major shift in the NFC landscape.
For the Giants, adding a veteran like Wilson may be a game-changer. The team currently has one of the youngest rosters in the NFL, and Wilson can certainly provide the leadership and experience necessary to elevate them into playoff contention. Fans are already buzzing about the potential, and as the season approaches, all eyes will be on Wilson to prove that he still has plenty left in the tank when it comes to playing the game.
