YouTuber Accidentally Buys Roddy Ricch’s Grammy
Some are calling it clout chasing at its finest, others say it was a come up! A popular YouTuber recently revealed that he bought Roddy Ricch’s Grammy for $280, but he wanted the rapper to pay way more than that to get it back.
Prieto Hunters, a content creator in California known for his videos documenting the purchase of abandoned storage units, claims that he stumbled on the Grammy after buying a unit previously owned by Roddy Ricch’s personal assistant.
The rapper went on Instagram Live to explain the story to his fans, saying that the Grammy was placed in the assistant’s storage unit while he was traveling. However, the personal assistant was later involved in a near-fatal accident, resulting in the mismanagement of the unit.
Roddy Ricch goes on to say that when he contacted Hunters to try and get the Grammy back and offered the YouTuber $10,000, but that wasn’t enough for Hunters, who allegedly wanted $50,000 and an AP watch. The two men eventually agreed on a price and met at a police station in California to make the exchange.
Roddy Ricch won the Grammy in 2022 for Best Rap Performance, highlighting his hit single “Heartless.”
