Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V) announced that he will vote in favor of confirming Judge Ketanji Brown-Jackson into the Supreme Court. His vote is practically all that she needs to be confirmed.

“I met with Judge Jackson and evaluated her qualifications to be a Supreme Court Justice,” Manchin shared in a statement about the decision. “After meeting with her, considering her record, and closely monitoring her testimony and questioning before the Senate Judiciary Committee this week, I have determined I intend to vote for her nomination to serve on the Supreme Court.” The West Virginia senator is considered a moderate who has a tendency to be unpredictable among the flow of the agenda. Democrats won’t need Republican votes to confirm Judge Brown-Jackson if every member in their caucus votes her in. Manchin’s vote practically guarantees her confirmation.
