Howard University better known as “The Mecca” or “The Real HU” is catching negative heat and attention via social media due to poor on-campus living conditions according to the current students. Now while HBCUs do not have large endowments, Howard University has the largest endowment among all other HBCUs.
Recently some students on the campus took to TikTok to post bursting pipes, flooding in rooms and hallways, even bathroom pipes having to be contained by forcing doors shut only for it to run on the flooring of the rooms. To live on world renowned and respected campus the cost is, $5,984.00 per semester. That’s a total of $11,968.00 a year for flooding and bursting pipes. Who knows what else is missing and not taken care of.
No official statement has been made from anyone at this time from Howard University. However, we must do better at our HBCUs.
