When Carmelo returned to the league he signed a non-gauranteed deal with RipCity. That contract could be converted into a guaranteed contract payment by January. After stepping in and stepping up majorly while Damian Lillard was injured, Melo answered the called with a guaranted average of 16ppg.
Since averaging those numbers and also winning Western Conference Player of the Week recently, RipCity has rewarded Melo with a guaranteed year deal of 2.16 million dollars and a must need spot on the court.
Just last week, Anthony told The Athletic “this aint no damn farewell tour” following an impressive 25-point showing against the Bulls. Now, he’ll have the rest of the season to make his case.
