Just days after officially filing for divorce from superstar singer Mariah Carey, TMZ is reporting that the divorce could be a costly situation for both her and Nick Cannon. In the report, the website stated some interesting details regarding the pre-nuptial agreement signed by the couple back in 2008. Going into the union, Carey came in at an estimated net worth of $150 million dollars, while her husband clocked in at $500k. While neither are a figure to laugh at, the amounts don’t compare at all.
However, as time went on, the head man of Ncredible was able to add a few more zeros to his valuation, which makes things a little more interesting. Apparently there’s a “gag order” type of agreement in place, which requires both parties to remain fairly silent on their relationship. A lump sum needs to be paid out if there’s any violation of this clause. Seeing how Nick just mentioned his now ex-wife in a new song, it would seem that he’s already violated that particular stipulation. But then again, if we’re going to get into finger pointing, you could say the very same about Mariah’s performance in Tokyo, back in October.
Take a look at the video below.
This could’ve gotten out of hand without an official pre-nup in place.
