Can a person over 40 have a real relationship with someone in their 20s or is it simply an ego thing?

  • I’m in my 60’s, I wouldn’t want someone my son’ age which is in his 40’s. I would want someone more close to my age where we would have a lot more in common.
  • I was dating a 40 year old women and it was all good until she wanted me to move in with her and her 17 year old son. Me being 23 and him 17. That would not have worked. We hung out a little longer, but shortly after that it was over.
  • When I was 23 my girlfriend was 35..12yr difference..and it worked, but I believe it depends on the maturity of the younger individual..because I wasnt the average 23yr old
  • JFK was 12 years older than Jackie. Do you think people cared then? Doubt it, so what’s the big deal now? Again, depends on the individuals involved and their connection to each other.
  • No not at all. The older person ends up looking stupid.
  • Anything is possible if you are willing to put in the work and be patient.
  • To each his own but for me 5-8 years is a major span and more than that is really crazy because you are just at different points and places in your lives.
  • I wouldn’t want someone close to my mother or aunt age. I want someone I could actually grow with. I wouldn’t want to be 45 years old and she is in her late 60’s or early 70’s
