What’s up HBCU Alum, Students and Fans!

The Bears and Bulldogs both lost their homecoming games Saturday. First the Bears of Morgan State were not victorious on homecoming weekend for the first time since 2006 losing to North Carolina Central 24-20. The Eagles’ Jordan Reids’ 26 yard TD pass to Detwan Robinson on a fourth and two plays with less than 30 seconds left in the game was the clincher for NCCU!

This weekend the Bears travel to D.C. to try and spoil Howard’s homecoming. Speaking of Howard, the Bison paid a visit to North Carolina A&T and lost to the Aggies 38 to 10.

Meanwhile, just down the highway in Bowie; The Bulldogs of Bowie State fell to a similar fate in an exciting battle that went into overtime losing to The Trojans of Virginia State 26 to 20!

Bowie State got the ball first in overtime and failed to score, when VSU got the ball running back Lamont Britt capped their scoring drive with a four yard run into the end zone to spoil the Bulldogs homecoming. Bowie State will be in Richmond this Saturday battling Virginia Union.

Moving South down I-95, Hampton defeated Norfolk State in the Battle of the Bay 28 to 14.

There are now only two unbeaten schools in all of black college football and Alabama A&M lost for the first time this season, falling to Alcorn State 21 to 20.
