A Baltimore City Police officer and a civilian have been killed in an overnight shooting downtown Three other people and another officer were also hurt in the shooting.

Police were called to a fight outside of the Select Lounge at Franklin and Paca Streets at about 1:15 this morning on Franklin and Paca Streets.

As several officers attempted to break up the fight, gun shots were fired.

Shortly before 5 a.m. police announced the

officer died at Shock Trauma. The Central district officer was 33 years old and had been on the force for 8 years.

Commissioner Fred Bealefeld says the other officer injured had been shot in the foot. He is an 11-year veteran of the Central district.

There is no word on the identities of the victims or the officers involved.

Police are questioning dozens of witnesses. No arrests have been made.
