6:15pm UPDATE – Chris Brown and his body guard both pleaded not guilty and was released on their own recognizance. The singer’s charges have been reduced to a misdemeanor simple assault. Brown must report to his probation officer in California within 24 hours. The new trial date is scheduled for Nov 25 at 10:00 am. Chris Brown’s wrists and ankles were shackled and he wore a white t-shirt, black sweat pants and white Adidas. Originally the singer was ordered to drug treatment but the order was later vacated by the judge.

3:00pm UPDATE – We have a media correspondent currently inside of the DC Courthouse where Chris Brown is scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon. Our correspondent just shared that Chris Brown’s mother and brother are both in attendance. Singer Trey Songz is also in attendance to show support for the singer Chris Brown.
There appeared to be a disagreement between federal marshals and Trey Songz’s camp for not letting the singer into the courtroom. Chris Brown’s family and celebrity friends are currently in a private area where they can hear audio of the proceedings.
Chris Brown was arrested over the weekend for felony assault after allegedly attacking a man outside a hotel. Reports say that Brown did not appear to be under the influence at the time of the incident.
