Lil Durk Trial Delayed After Juror Concerns

Lil Durk and his legal team had hoped to begin opening arguments in his murder-for-hire trial on Friday, August 21. However, jury selection has taken longer than expected, with remarks from one prospective juror reportedly contributing to the delay.

According to an exclusive report from AllHipHop, one male prospective juror said Durk and his codefendants appeared guilty and acknowledged that he would not be able to view the case fairly. The prospective juror, identified as Juror No. 18, reportedly said that simply looking at the defendants made him feel they were guilty, despite not yet hearing arguments from either side.

Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald reportedly removed Juror No. 18 from the pool, which consists of roughly 80 prospective jurors.

Jury selection officially began Thursday, August 20, marking the start of proceedings in the high-profile case. However, the process has moved more slowly than expected.

As of Friday, the court had reportedly evaluated only about 40% of the prospective jurors. With the selection process still underway, opening statements on Friday appeared increasingly unlikely unless proceedings accelerated significantly.
