Sigh, here we go again. Just when we thought the headlines might cool off for a minute, Diddy’s name pops right back into the mix and this time it’s tied to President Trump.

In an interview with Newsmax earlier this week, Trump was asked if he’d consider giving Sean “Diddy” Combs a presidential pardon. His answer? A confusing swirl of maybe, maybe not, and depends on how he treated me during the campaign.

“He was essentially, I guess, sort of half-innocent,” Trump said, in classic Trump fashion. “He was celebrating a victory, but I guess it wasn’t as good of a victory.”

He then pivoted to say that Diddy had made “terrible statements” about him when he first ran for office, which, according to Trump, makes the idea of a pardon “more difficult to do.”

Let’s be real, it sounds like politics and personal feelings are getting tangled up again.

Pardon Diddy, or Not to Pardon Diddy

Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, spoke to Variety the day before the interview aired and said he had no clue what was happening on the pardon front either.

“I am not involved in [pardon efforts] in the least,” he said. “There are times I think there’s nothing to it, and there are times I think it’s just rumor mill stuff. But I do not purport to know the president’s mind. I really don’t know.”

The attorney also spoke on Diddy’s current confinement, sharing that the music mogul hasn’t been outside since September due to conditions at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

“He hasn’t had sun on his skin. It’s sort of like sensory deprivation,” Agnifilo said. “There’s no breeze, there’s no wind, there’s very little change in temperature. So, he wants to get out and be with his family.”

Diddy is scheduled for sentencing on October 3 after being found guilty on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution.
