The federal RICO trial against Sean “Diddy” Combs heated up this week as LAPD officers took the stand, offering damning testimony that supports the prosecution’s allegations of drug trafficking and organized criminal activity.

The officers detailed their investigation into a 2011 incident involving a break-in at rapper Kid Cudi’s Los Angeles home. According to testimony, surveillance footage and eyewitness reports led them to identify a black Escalade seen leaving the scene. The vehicle was later traced back through registration records to Bad Boy Records, Diddy’s own label.

This aligns with earlier testimony from Capricorn Clark, Diddy’s former assistant of nearly 20 years, who stated she was inside that very vehicle alongside Diddy the night of the break-in. Clark also told the court she was frequently asked to secure hotel rooms and supply drugs for Combs, further supporting the prosecution’s claim of a long-running criminal enterprise where Combs used company employees and resources to commit crimes. If they can definitively prove who was in the vehicle registered to Bad Boy Records that night, legal experts say it come be game over for the Hip Hop mogul.

Diddy’s legal team filed for a mistrial in response to the testimony, but the judge swiftly denied the request, allowing the case to proceed. More witnesses are expected to testify next week.
