Donald Trump had a long list of pardons released yesterday and NBA YoungBoy was on it as well as Larry Hoover who has six life terms. The good news however was only for YB as Hoover will most likely still be sitting behind bars. Wednesday it was revealed that President Donald Trump was commuting Larry Hoover’s federal sentence, but it seems a bit more complicated. While President Trump did issue the pardon, the state of Illinois sentenced him to 200 years in prison for murder and state level sentences cannot reportedly be commuted by a President. In order for Hoover to see some type of movement, that would have to now come from Illinois Governor JB Pritzker.

Hoover’s lawyer Justin Moore posted online: “We got Larry Hoover out of federal prison – when many said it was impossible… Illinois must send him home for good.”

BBC reports,

In addition to his federal sentence, Hoover still faces a 200-year jail term in the state of Illinois for murder, and is unlikely to be released soon. A president is unable to commute state-level sentences.
