In a historic move to celebrate Miami’s vibrant hip-hop culture, several of the city’s most influential artists now have streets named in their honor.

DJ Khaled, Trina, Trick Daddy, the City Girls, Flo Rida and Kodak Black were all recognized with street renamings in the heart of Liberty City, a neighborhood that has been instrumental in shaping music from Florida natives and their careers.

The renaming ceremony, which took place last month, highlighted the lasting impact these artists have made on Miami’s music scene and beyond. DJ Khaled, known for his global success as a DJ, producer, and mogul now has “We The Best Terrace” as a permanent reminder of his contributions. Trina, often referred to as the “Queen of Miami”, has a street named “Still Da Baddest Street,” which is dedicated to one of her most successful songs, “Da Baddest B*tch.” Flo Rida, Trick Daddy and Kodak Black also have streets named after their own hit records.

Miami-Dade County District 3 Commissioner Keon Hardemon said he hopes the move continues to encourage economic growth in the area, which he says has been his goal since he was elected.

“The essence of this is to … let people know that this exists in Miami-Dade County and you should come see it,” said Hardemon.

The committee who approved the street renaming reportedly took into account each artists’ Billboard success and how much they’ve contributed to their hometown communities.
