Missy Elliott & Queen Latifah Receive Medal From Joe Biden

President Biden handed out National Medals of Arts to Queen Latifah and Missy Elliott, among other greats on Monday! The National Medals of Arts are the highest honor any artist can receive from the United States government, so this is huge.

In addition to Missy & Queen Latifah, there were other amazing awards given out for the same honor along with National Humanities honors including Spike Lee.

During President Biden’s remarks he  also showed love and respect to Vice President Kamala Harris saying,

“I know the power of the women in this room to get things done, proving a woman can do anything a man can do, and then some, that includes being president of the United States of America.”

Missy Elliott posted how grateful she was for the honor tweeting,

“I am HUMBLY GRATEFUL! Crying Tears of JOY! Thinking of the days I wasn’t so strong but through FAITH & PRAYER I kept going.. I’m SO THANKFUL. @POTUS & CONGRATULATIONS to the other amazing ppl who was blessed with this honor.”
