The Security Deposit Assistance Program is a designated fund to cover the cost of security deposits for Baltimore City tenants who are income-eligible. The program provides a one-time grant of up to $1,800 to cover the cost of a tenant’s security deposit. Please note that security deposit funds cannot be used towards any units that are subsidized or receive federal assistance.
Eligible applicants include Baltimore City residents with household incomes that meet the requirements of our funding sources, which can include a small percentage of households at 80% of Area’s Median Income.
City residents can apply directly through the online portal – new users must first register their account before signing in to the portal.
Applications can also be completed in person at one of the five Community Action Partnership Centers.
