A 13 year old girl from the Pittsburgh area was reported missing early last month and was found in an adult prison after a shoplifting incident. When she got caught shoplifting, she gave the authorities a fake name and age and they sent her to an adults prison.

Someone who works at the Beaver County jail ended up recognizing the girl from missing person signs that were around the neighborhood. After the policed realized it was the same girl, they notified her parents where she was and moved her to juvenile court. Pittsburgh police said that the girl was seen in the city riding bikes and on public transportation.

The teen was charged with retail theft after she was caught stealing items from a store in Beaver Falls. She gave the authorities a fake name and age which made them believe that she was 18. Not only did she lie about her age, she also told the police that she was homeless as well.

While she was in jail, police contacted child services trying to find information about her, but since her information wasn’t real, they did not find anything. It was not noted on how many days she spent in the jail.
