A 12-minute video has surfaced giving a first person view of the moments where thugs overtook the U.S Capitol.

The video comes from The New Yorker as a reporter, Luke Mogelson, “followed Trump supporters as they forced their way into the U.S. Capitol, using his phone’s camera as a reporter’s notebook,” the magazine shared on YouTube. Warning: explicit language.

The District becomes fortress ahead of Inauguration.

In response to the heinous attack on the Capitol, over 25,000 National Guard troops have ascended on Washington, D.C. “Bringing in so many guardsmen has been a major logistical feat in just a matter of days has been a major logistical feat after the Secret Service requested that the number of personnel increase from 15,000 to 25,000. The number of guardsmen in the city will be a military force five times larger than the number of U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan combined,” writes Luis Martinez of ABC News.

As surreal as it may seem, reality of yet another violent moment in American history has set in. 5 people, including law enforcement officers, lost their lives in the Capitol insurrection on January 6th. Wishing the best of vibes and safe wishes to troops and law enforcement protecting the Capitol ahead of the historic inauguration this week.
