Two dynamic Hip-Hop duos have received a well deserved honor; The Neptunes and Outkast have been nominated for the 2020 Class of the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Both duos have each played a key role in not just Hip Hop, but music as a whole.

The Atlanta-based duo of Andre 3000 and Big Boi has influenced many of the Atlanta acts in recent history. Although they aren’t as active as they used to be, their footprint is still there. “3K” and Big Boi have achieved legendary status among colleagues, one that has fans clamoring for a possible reunion one day. Though no reunion is in sight, we still vibe to the legendary sounds that Outkast has produced; clearly a sound that was ahead of its time.

The Virginia-based duo of Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo have delivered legendary production behind some of the industry’s biggest hits as the group, The Neptunes. Influencing acts like Clipse, Missy Elliott, Ludacris, Jay Z, Rihanna and more, the Neptunes combined eclectic sounds to create an unforgettable style of music. Much like their fellow nominees, the Neptunes produced a sound that was ahead of its time.

The induction ceremony has been set for June 11th 2020. If inducted, they would be in great company; Jay Z, Missy Elliott, Jermaine Dupri, and Dallas Austin are already in the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
