There’s a term that people use when honoring legends. They say “give them their flowers while they are still here.” Well since this living legend isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, it’s been time to give Jermaine Dupri his props. 25 years ago Dupri created So So Def Recordings and birth the careers of Kriss Kross, Da Brat, Xscape and more. Before that, he was a 12-year-old B-boy touring across the country with the Hip-Hop group “Whodini.”
Music is in Jermaine Dupri’s blood. Because of his achievements, JD received the “Living Legend” award at Urban One Honors, solidifying his legacy.
Dupri talks about receiving the honor and more at Voices at MGM National Harbor Presents Urban One Honors.
