It seems like Shaquille O’Neal and Kyrie Irving are living on the same bizarre planet. In an episode of The Big Podcast with Shaq, O’Neal insisted, “It’s true. The Earth is flat.”

The media personality and retired athlete made the statement in support of point guard Kyrie Irving’s similar claim back in February. Irving went on another podcast, Road Trippin’ With RJ and Channing, to say “The Earth is flat… It’s right in front of our faces. I’m telling you, it’s right in front of our faces. They lie to us.”

O’Neal elaborates, “Listen, there are three ways to manipulate the mind — what you read, what you see and what you hear.” Then he continues, “In school, first thing they teach us is, ‘Oh, Columbus discovered America’… Columbus didn’t discover America.” Then he concludes his theory about earth, “So, listen, I drive from coast to coast, and this s*** is flat to me.”

It appears O’Neal missed the science proven history of space exploration, geography, physics and the many other fields that render his theory wrong. Sorry Shaq, it’s highly unlikely the flat-earth movement will go far.
