It’s very rare to catch any member of the Smith family doing anything except smiling––but it may take a while for the clan’s joy to come back.
According to Will Smith‘s ex-wife Sheree Fletcher, Will’s father Willard Carroll Smith Sr. has died. Fletcher, who was married to the box office star from 1992 to 1995, took to Instagram to reveal the news. Posting a photo of Will and his father alongside her now 23-year-old son Trey with the actor, Sheree wrote, “We’re gonna miss you Daddio! You lived & played by your own rules…you truly were 1 of a kind! You instilled discipline, and a work ethic that has created a legacy in your honor!”
Will has yet to speak publicly about his father’s death. But the actor, who usually is mum about his personal life, once praised his dad as a ‘steady and positive figure’ in his life.
