Playwright William Concave once wrote, “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.” You are probably familiar with it. I tend to think that it applies to both genders, and it has more to do with a “lover” scorned. 11 Alive reports that ex-NFL player Buster Barnett,’s wife  – Sandra Barnett – was kidnapped and then killed by his mistress, Lisa Brown, who also killed herself in this absolutely absurd and tragic love triangle. That it is the mistress who somehow felt wronged by her boyfriend – a married man – is just amazing to any reasonable person! For reference, Barnett played for the Buffalo Bills from 1981 to 1984.

According to the report by 11 Alive, Brown entered Sandra’s home on Thursday, forced her into a car, and was driving over the speed limit. She was spotted by Carroll County, GA police but the chase crossed state lines into Alabama, which then saw the Alabama State Trooper join in the chase. After reaching  a particular mark, Brown shot Sandra and then shot herself.

The story gets more confusing because the police reported that Brown and Buster Barnett had been having an affair for several years. They do not say however, if Sandra Barnett was aware of this. It is also known that Brown had kidnapped her child who she had lost custody of in Texas.

What a tragic, tragic story. There are no reports on any public statement made by Buster Barnett yet.
