Dre’s ‪#‎Breakfastbite‬… How do you feel about being summoned for jury duty and the selection process?

Cornell Willis The new system is crazy! You’re on the hook for three more weeks if you’re not initially selected.. How is this process different from the military draft in the 60’s?

Keisha Noelle I went in May for Baltimore county. They asked the court room “please stand if you have a biased opinion of police authority”. HALF of the prospective jury stood and were dismissed! Including myself. I said WOW.

Kevin Boardley I have not to jury duty sent 2013 because I moved in Essex that used to call me a lot when I lived in Baltimore city

MrTerrence Teel I think its everyone’s civic duty, if you can complain about the system be apart of it to change it. Not all processes will be favorable. There is a larger picture

MsHappybymyself Parham You, shouldn’t have to if you don’t want… This is supposed to be the land of the free!!

Shashacam Boyd Absolutely BORING!!! They should do a full evaluation of the prospective juror to ensure that person is fit to b one. Whats the point of sitting down there all day if your not fit to serve. They can find out about your biased opinions thru the questionnaire that u have to fill out and send back, therefore relinquishing your need to even have to attend.

Tashia Smith Good morning Dre! I can’t stand to be summons for jury duty. The justice system is so screwed up so I never want to be apart of it.

Patricia Ray The sitting and waiting is not fun and then depending on where u work some people do not get paid for it. Last yr was there for days and didn’t get paid for it because i was a contractor. 3 days pay is a lot to lose for 1 week

Christlynne Thrower I’m going to find out the 29th..

Terrence Boone I know its everyone’s civic duty, But the process is an inconvenience, I was selected recently and I made them aware that I had a lot of things going on at the time and they didn’t care one bit, I was stuck there for 2 weeks but I got out of it while the rest of the panel had to stay for another week, I went 2 weeks without hardly having any money for my bills smh

whthershey209 I honestly don’t mind. I feel like it’s my duty as a citizen. I just pray they call me the day the Freddie gray officers go to trial!

tnummzilla I hate it.. they can keep that lil 15 dollars 😑

justkikibrown I’ve never been summoned before. With the chatter I hear about it, I’m glad I never have. (For now)

almost_perfecti0n It’s a long drawn out process no one likes unless your unemployed or hate your job that much lol. But I’m sure people will be flocking to it. And be on time to collect their $15 and be in their Sunday’s best. I hope they take it serious and serve justice. Jury duty is s serious responsibility. @drejohnson1 Gm luv

bigbrneyes I don’t mind either honestly. I just feel like when being selected for a trial, I feel like the courts should do like a randomized pull out the hat, not base it on what you look like or what the attorneys think you are or aren’t capable of.

mylifemypicz I look like a baby so i never get picked. Been like 4 times

mylifemypicz Hey I love a day off.. my job pays me for the day so it’s not bad.. i would love to get picked. It also seems it can be scary depending on the case.

nickieb27 Never been summoned. . Always wondered about the process

dat_dam__ram its due process but at least try to make it comfortable while we are waiting all day😊

loyal_nik I don’t mind it because I still get paid at work. I just had to go a month ago I got picked it was torture I felt like it was my trail

inthenikoftime23 I think we have to stop dodging responsibility. WE are the first to complain about the jury not being made up of our peers

inthenikoftime23 Peer

blizz40 I don’t mind doing my civic duty but 3 times in the same year is too much!

imperfectlyphoenix It’s the worst, $15 to miss a whole damn work day, and most times you don’t get picked. But have to sit in what seems like a dam holding cell. While they play old ass movies. No they should only summon the ppl that like doing it and wasting a day for $15.
