George Zimmerman’s brother, Robert Zimmerman, Jr. has been acting as the family spokesperson since the chilling verdict that rocked the country.  He made waves when he commented on the President’s remarks regarding Zimmerman’s not-guilty verdict.

“I think the president took his time with his remarks, and it was about time they heard from him. I know a lot of people were expecting to hear from the president, and I’m glad he spoke up today,” Zimmerman told FOX News.

“You know, I think the president was speaking off the cuff, and I think he was very sincere in his remarks,” Zimmerman also said.

“I think that sometimes when we get bogged down in the politics of it all, we forget the missing link is sometimes a person who a young person can relate to or feel encouraged by. I think no matter what any child’s race is, … it should be beyond politics to stand united in the sense that we can organize ourselves to better address the needs of children,” he said.

“My concern is that … we do everything we can for children who are having difficulties — and I really see eye to eye with the president on that — difficulties in life.”

Zimmerman, however, feels the Martin family should leave well enough alone in regards to pursuing a civil lawsuit against his brother, George.

“A myriad of things that were off-limits in a criminal trial would come into play in a civil case. Specifically, things that might not be very flattering to Trayvon or his family,” Zimmerman stated in an email toThe Huffington Post.

“I don’t expect a wrongful death suit…There is the potential assertion of civil immunity before the case would even start — things that were off limits during the case might also come up then. Also, a criminal acquittal goes a long way to supporting a civil immunity claim,” Robert Zimmerman Jr. said.
