This week I will start by congratulating Winston Salem State! Connell Maynors’ Rams were 37 to 14 winners over Shippensburg State in the second round of the Division II playoffs. WSSU is now 12-0 and will face IUP (Indiana University of Pennsylvania) in round three this Saturday.

Unfortunately, Bethune -Cookman was not as fortunate as the Rams. Coach Brian Jenkins Wildcats lost to Coastal Carolina 24-14 in round one of the FCS playoffs.

While we were chomping on fried turkey and stuffing, Thanksgiving Day included a beatdown between the Golden Tigers of Tuskegee for a victory against The Hornets of Alabama State 27-25 to win the 89th Annual TurkeyDay Classic!

Saturday, Southern held off Grambling State 38-33 to win the Bayou Classic.

That being said, here is what the remainder of the season looks like:

December 01 , 2012 : Winston Salem State Play IUP and continue to making their way in the D-2 playoffs as long as they keep winning. The Rams are the only HBCU left in the D-2 tournament and we wish the red and black the best and hope they grab that D-2 Title that eluded them last season!

Tuskegee and Elizabeth City State will meet in Columbus, Georgia to play in Pioneer Bowl XIV. This is the Annual bowl game that is played between a representative from the CIAA and the SIAC.

December 08 , 2012 : Jackson State will play Arkansas Pine-Bluff in the SWAC championship.
