Disco legend Loleatta Holloway died yesterday after a brief illness. She is best known for her booming voice which was featured on 70s dance floor staples like “Love Sensation,” “Hit & Run,” and The Salsoul Orchestra’s “Runaway.”  She was 64.

Soul-Blues singer Marvin Sease has died at age 64.  Sease died on February 8th in Vicksburg, MS. The cause of death hasn’t been confirmed, but some outlets are reporting it as pneumonia.

In late 1961, Motown Records earned it’s first number one pop hit thanks to The Marvelettes’ song “Please Mr. Postman.”  The song featured the fiery lead vocals of a 16-year-old girl named Gladys Horton.  On January 26th, the lead singer of “Please Mr. Postman” died at the age of 65.
