Gervonta Davis Arrested for Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend
Boxing star Gervonta “Tank” Davis was arrested on July 11 in Florida following a June 15 altercation on Father’s Day involving his ex-girlfriend and mother of his children.
According to police reports, Davis arrived to pick up his kids, but when his ex-girlfriend leaned into his vehicle, Tank allegedly struck her in the back of the head and slapped her. The victim reportedly sent a distress text to her mother, who witnessed the incident and recorded part of it, allegedly capturing Davis throwing a small box at her daughter.
Davis was detained on a $10,000 bond and was later released after posting bail. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 29.
The incident adds to a pattern of legal troubles for the 30-year-old Baltimore native, who has faced multiple domestic violence allegations over the past few years dating back to 2020.
Despite being undefeated in 31 professional bouts, this latest controversy has yet again cast a shadow over his boxing accomplishments and schedule. His previously planned rematch against Lamont Roach Jr., initially set for mid-August, now hangs in the balance.
