Kanye West and Kim Kardashian announced they’re filing for divorce. Though the split didn’t surprise many, Yeezy thinks his failed Presidential campaign is what costed him his marriage.
According to People, West has been texting back and forth with some of his closest friends, “talking things through” about the divorce. Sources report that Kanye blames his marriage failures on his political failures. “He’s in that place of ‘if only,’” the source says. “‘If only I had done this, if only I hadn’t done that.’ He’s processing things. He thinks that the presidential run was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Before that, there was hope. After that, none.”

In case you forgot, Kanye West put his name in the hat to be President of the United States. His campaign was late and was rather unorthodox.
You may remember this moment on his campaign trail where he shared his views of Harriet Tubman and that she “never actually freed the slaves, she just had them work for other white people.”

We’ve watched Ye’ go through many transformations along his journey. It’s hard to imagine my relationship with Hip Hop without him. He’s brought all sorts of techniques to music production that other producers attempt to recreate today. He’s even given us some of the most unforgettable bops like “Gold-digger”, “Jesus Walks”, and others.
He’s also given us feelings of pain watching him suffer the loss of his mother and other tragedies. It’s always been difficult to watch the Kanye spiral continue. We don’t know what’s in store for Kanye. We can only hope that things improve for him and that his mental health becomes and remains a priority.
