A woman who reported missing at the Patapsco Wastewater Treatment Plant was found dead in the water on Monday.

According to Baltimore City Fire officials, employees realized the DPW supervisor was missing and remembered seeing her walk across a catwalk that sits above the water filtration system. They went to investigate and found a grate on the catwalk was missing.

“After some time, they didn’t see their supervisor and they went looking for her. They noticed the grate was missing there were two items that belonged to her that were in the location where the missing grate was — a glove and a walkie-talkie. They immediately started looking for her,” said Blair Adams, spokeswoman for the Baltimore City Fire Department.

The woman was a DPW supervisor and a city employee for at least 20 years.
