We asked 92Q listeners to send in their nominations for Baltimore’s Top 30 Under 30 for 2013 and we’ve chosen the best and the brightest young movers and shakers in the area to make the list. Come by daily during the whole month of February for a new member to the Top 30 Under 30 Club. (Listed in no particular order)

10. Franchon Crews

Baltimore native Franchon Crews turned to boxing at age 16 after learning of it’s fitness benefits. Almost a decade later, Franchon has accumulated 13 national titles, 4 continental titles, 1 world title, participated in mutiple historic boxing events for women. Franchon was on the first ever U.S. Pan American women’s boxing team in history (2011). As an avid pioneer for the sport Franchon has played a key role in progressing the sport by continuously pushing the level of competition as high as possible. Her numerous accolades and accomplishments serve as proof of her veteran staus and she plans to continue her reign in the ring. Franchon is a member of TEAM USA, competing in China, South America, Europe.

Franchon aspires to inspire the lives of troubled youth who struggle with finding a positive role model as she did. She speaks at youth programs such as Living Class Rooms, University of Maryland and schools throughout Baltimore city. Franchon plans to break the mold by exemplifying the role of a world champion.
