I have two kids with my ex-boyfriend of 8 years. We broke up a year ago and he’s moved on to another woman. I still love him and now that Christmas is coming up, I don’t know if I should get him a gift. I want to get him something only he would appreciate and know it came from me. I don’t really care about his new girl, she don’t know him or love him like I do. Plus I know he’s just going to cheat on her anyway. We been together for 8 years and I know he still loves me (because he tells me). My friends say I should move on but I tried dating and I haven’t found anyone to make me feel the way he did. Am I desperate? What ever happened to fighting for the one you love? Should I do the Christmas present and see what happens? Or should I just do nothing and get over it? If so, how do I do that when I’m still in love with him?

Now you’re intruding on him and his new girl…even if he does tell you he loves you, clearly it’s not too much love if he hasn’t gotten back with you. and you say you know he will cheat on her…with who, you? then that’s wrong as well! you aren’t fighting for the one you love…you are fighting yourself. because if he loves youand wanted to you, that battle would have been over. yes, you do sound desperate…but tis the season!
