Today’s show started early with Real Talk but now, I’m taking your responses with the issue of sexual abuse. On Oprah yesterday, she talked with the older brother of Oscar award winning, Baltimore native, comedian/actor Monique, whom she claims sexually abused her as a child.

On the show, he apologizes to Monique in hopes to rebuilding their family.

If you’ve been molested, does an apology, whether public or private, make a difference in the abuse? Here’s what you had to say via Facebook and Twitter:

Alexis Means Nope thats a private matter and should be handled behind closed doors

Jessica Mua White I know where you got this from Kiki (lol)…..But I don’t even think any apology makes a difference because it happened and the damage has been done.

Joseph TheFranchise Turner-Wilson Hell no an apology is to make that low-life feel better never that ish.

Tracy Herceg Like an I’m sorry is supposed to make it go away. I don’t think it makes a difference. And Alexis is right..thats a private matter and if you are trying to offer an apology it shouldn’t be made public.

Bianca Solomon IN MY OPINION I DONT BELIEVE THAT AN APOLOGY MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN THE ABUSE ITS SELF, HOWEVER IN SOME CASES AN APOLOGY CAN GO A LONG WAY! MAYBE THAT APOLOGY COULD HELP THE VICTIM GET TO A PLACE OF FORGIVENESS THAT GOD WILL HONOR..
