Fabolous is currently working his latest audio project Summertime Shootout 3 after dropping it off last week, and one of the singles from the mixtape, “Choosy,” is making some moves. In an attempt to take the track to the next level, Fab attempted to get Shiggy to get a viral dance challenge popping off based on the song and got hit with the “pay up first” curve that has Twitter chiming in with reactions.
Shiggy famously started a dance craze over Drake’s “In My Feelings” challenge that ended up becoming a bag by way of Drake placing him in the official video for the song and reportedly getting paid nicely for his efforts.
However, Fab’s ask was met with Shiggy asking about a check, and an IG Live video from the Brooklyn rapper after a concert shows him and Casanova ribbing Shiggy for going hood Hollywood on them after asking to be paid. The back and forth goes on for a bit but it eventually ends with Casanova hugging Shiggy and the group going on about their business.
On Twitter, some agree that Shiggy should get som monetary compensation while there were a few who felt he should have done Fab a solid. We’ve got all sides of the debate listed out below, along with the video exchange in question.

I watched the video with Cas/Fab/Shiggy.

Cas and Fab are not Shiggy's friends. Those are industry friends. Y'all have to make sure you understand the difference. Your homies will do their best to help you out. These industry friends use you until THEY CANNOT USE YOU ANYMORE
2.
They saying he did the Drake one for free but the difference here is Drake ain’t ask Shiggy to do it. Shiggy used Drakes hit for his act. Fab tryna use Shiggy to make his wack ass song pop so yeah, you requesting his services and they ain’t free. Pay up or shut up. https://t.co/PCNcMAcOGI

They’re assholes. Shiggy was bullied for months for “shuckin & jivin” so the fact that two black men are shaming him for having self worth & not tap dancing on call is ridiculous. He’s not a circus act. If you want to see him perform, PAY HIM! https://t.co/Be3Byyu4pt

Fab asked Shiggy to promo his shit and Shiggy asked to get paid. Then Fab tells him he’s buggin. But nobody knew Fab had a song out so who really needs who in this situation?

This Shiggy/Fab situation shows me that some of you do NOT value the goods/services your "friends" provide. Y'all really act like putting money in your people's pockets is a violation!

Shiggy wasn’t asking for money from Fab directly. He was asking for Fab to set up a promotional partnership with himself and the label so he can be compensated. Let me ask you this. If Shiggy wanted to drop a rap single would Fab and/or Casanova hop on it for free? No.

And Drake paid Shiggy for his efforts AFTER the video why because he deserved for his contribution to the song. So no argument at all, Shiggy not wrong for asking.
