Make sure you tune into Konan’s show today from 2-6P as he broadcasts live from City Hall and discuss important issues with our youth violence and prevention as well as community involvement. Join Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake , Police Commissioner and R&B /Baltimore native Mario today along with 75 Baltimore city youth (ages 12-17).

What can you do (as an individual or a community) to help decrease the city’s youth violence?

Here’s what you had to say:

Debbie S.: Everything must start at HOME!! Without it our children are lost in this World…they definitely need Guidance but u have to Educate the Parents first unfortunately!!

Kyle N: Indeed it starts at home, the problem is some parents are lazy and not available emotionally to their children, when i was growing up, i went everywhere with my dad, swimming, basketball, karate, football and etc. Some parents these days think that providing food and shelter is as good as it gets for their children, WRONG, what about building your See Morechilds character, helping them to understand the pro’s and con’s of life!! when they are not getting the discipline, love and guidance at home, what do you think when they are not there? I believe that kids can only act out as a result of what they may have seen happen in their lives, or maybe even on television, raising a good kid takes more than just new shoes and mcdonalds!!! Until some parents realize this, there will only be specualtion as to what the growing problem is!!

Troy S: I think it can be as simple as going back to the basics when ur neighbors where involved in raising all the kids in the neighborhood. They corrected u when u where wrong and told ur parents later. Its all about forcing respect and discipline on our youth and keeping them in activities.
