Baltimore’s Fourth of July festivities are back in full swing this year, featuring a dazzling fireworks display over the Inner Harbor and the return of a crowd-favorite drone show, city officials announced Monday.

The fireworks will light up the sky starting at 9 p.m. at the Inner Harbor. Immediately after, at 9:30 p.m., a drone show will illuminate the sky over Middle Branch Park, Mayor Brandon Scott said during a press conference.

In addition to the evening spectacles, Charm City’s Independence Day celebrations will include a family-friendly picnic at West Shore Park and the popular Cherry Hill Waterfront Arts and Music Festival, which offers live performances, art exhibits, local vendors, and food trucks.

Entertainment at the Inner Harbor will take place at the amphitheater, showcasing performances by local artists, according to the mayor’s office.

The drone show, part of the Cherry Hill festival, will launch from West Covington Park and is best viewed from Middle Branch Park, officials said. The festival itself runs from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. on July 4 and is co-directed by Navasha Daya.

The Cherry Hill festival is hosted in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Culture and Entertainment, the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore, and the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore.

“From the Inner Harbor to Cherry Hill, we’ve got fun for the whole family,” said Mayor Scott. “I hope to see everyone out having a safe and joyful Fourth of July.”

For the best view of the fireworks, Scott recommends watching from the Inner Harbor, Federal Hill, or Cherry Hill, where he plans to celebrate.

To accommodate the celebration, several downtown roads will close starting at 8:30 p.m., including portions of Pratt Street, Light Street, Lombard Street, and the eastbound lanes of Conway Street.
