It’s official. After days of speculation, sources report that future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady will retire after 22 seasons and 7 Super Bowl rings. (Credible) Sports reporter Adam Schefter broke the news on Twitter and NFL fans across the world immediately went down memory lane.

Brady was the league’s MVP 3 times and the Super Bowl MVP 5 (sheesh) times. He’s a 2-time NFL Offensive Player of the Year and 3-time NFL All-Pro with 15 Pro Bowl selections. He’s ranked first in regular season career yards with 84,520, passes attempted with 11,317, and completed with 7,263. Oh, can’t forget the historic-leading 624 touchdowns. His fingerprints are everywhere the record books (there’s a lot more) and honestly, they’re records that I think will be tough to eclipse. It’s no secret that he’s set the bar high.

Those historic numbers don’t account for the emotions of following such an energetic career. Brady entered the league as 6th round pick from Michigan and fought the underdog’s journey to the top. We’ve witnessed historic Super Bowl comebacks and unbelievable plays from TB12; moments that make you feel like you can accomplish the impossible as well.

More information to come.

I expect that we’ll be hearing more about Brady’s retirement in the coming days. He still has yet to take the podium to make the announcement himself. It’s noted that his decision puts the reigning Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a tough position financially and strategically. The next few days will some of the most active in recent sports history. Stay tuned.
