Track superstar Sha’Carri Richardson has hit a pinnacle in her life that many never see or get while living; a life documentary produced about them. The late Virgil Abloh took a liking to the speedy track star after she was denied entry into the Olympics after disqualifying herself by failing a drug test against cannabis. Richardson later revealed she started smoking to cope with the lost of her mother.

While this sparked endless conversation about the legality of cannabis and how Sha’Carri should have been able to still run due to the reasons behind her choosing to engage in her decision, the Olympic committee ruled against Richardson. After successfully completing a counseling program, she accepted a one-month period of ineligibility that began on June 28, 2021.

During her time off she developed national attention, new sponsorship and endorsements including Beats Headphones. Virgil believed her story she be told on a national platform to encourage the world on determination and responsibility even if you don’t like the decision. The documentary titled ‘Sub Eleven Seconds,’ which is directed by Bafic and executive produced by Virgil Abloh, is premiering at the Sundance Film Festival that is virtual this year due to COVID-19.
