Well it’s another day in politics that has tremendously affected the American people! After the house agreed to to up the stimulus payment of $600 to $2,000 Senate the Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked the effort on Tuesday. Many people were waiting for this bill to increase direct payments in the year end as many people really need this coronavirus relief package to $2,000. Unfortunately for now that doesn’t look to be happening. Democrats McConnell said he planned to set up a Wednesday vote on the veto override. He also spoke on three priorities Trump said he wanted Congress to address in addition to the stimulus which is Section 230 legal liability protections for internet platforms Trumps concerns about the d election fraud. Mitch said “this week, the Senate will begin a process to bring these three priorities into focus.” So not sure if the stimulus will be a first priority or this tireless conversation of the election fraud.
Donald Trump has since responded to the block on Twitter,
Unless Republicans have a death wish, and it is also the right thing to do, they must approve the $2000 payments ASAP. $600 IS NOT ENOUGH! Also, get rid of Section 230 – Don’t let Big Tech steal our Country, and don’t let the Democrats steal the Presidential Election. Get tough! https://t.co/GMotstu7OI
