Although football season is back in the best version of full swing that it can be, it hasn’t been the easiest thing for the Black athlete to endure in this season. Recently, justice was not served in the case of Breonna Taylor and multiple celebrities and athletes have spoken out. Most recently our own Baltimore Ravens Quarterback Lamar Jackson recently made a statement in regards to the lack of justice Black Americans have been facing after the the judgement call was made against the officers involved in the case.

Jackson stated to @brgridon, “We’re in America… the land of the free. But I don’t really feel like its been that way for us Black people sometimes.” Just because hes’s an athlete doesn’t mean after that jersey comes off that hes not a Black man in America. WE appreciate Lamar for using his platform during these times of pain and sorrow in the African American community.

Thank you to the coaches, players and personnel that have all spoken up.
