The Mayor of Ocean City Rick Meehan has passed an emergency declaration to reopen the boardwalk, beaches and inlet parking lot to the public this weekend.

According to Fox 45, hotels and other businesses will still be closed – although city leaders had also previously agreed to schedule the hotels to reopen May 22.

A spokesperson for Gov. Hogan sent a joint statement with the Town of Ocean City, saying: “This is a way to give nearby residents more opportunities to get outside and enjoy fresh air, while still adhering to social distancing guidelines and gathering limits. The governor’s stay-at-home order remains in effect.”
