Cursive writing, considered unnecessary for students to learn in the computer and smart phone age, is coming back in Texas.
The Texas State Board of Education will soon require all 2nd graders to write legibly in cursive by the time they reach 5th grade.
Requirement changes were made by the State Board of Education in 2017, but won’t go into effect until the 2019-2020 school year.
