The GPS was created by a team in the 1950’s and 1960’s at the US Navy Base in Virginia by a Mathmatician Gladys West. She worked on the technology for about 42 years before she retired in 1998 but little did she know history was being created. The (GPS) is called Geographical Positioning System and it is used in Cars, Phones, Computers and even Pets. She has a amazing story! She worked on the Satelite Geodesy (science that measures the size and shape of Earth).
